On 11 September 2026, The SFC has banned Ms Mok Cheuk Ling, former licensed representative of Sun Hung Kai Investment Services Limited and Sun Hung Kai Commodities Limited, from re-entering the industry for 42 months from 11 September 2026 to 10 March 2030. Investigations found that between 2009 and 2021, she traded on a discretionary basis for seven clients without written authorisation, used clients’ login credentials to place orders on non-discretionary accounts, caused nearly HK$3 million client losses, and supplied false account information and fabricated statements to some clients; though clients were aware of her discretionary trading, such arrangements were undocumented and undisclosed to SHK, which prohibited discretionary trading services. The SFC ruled her guilty of misconduct and unfit to hold a licence, taking into account the 12-year misconduct period, client losses and her partial self-funded compensation of over HK$1.2 million to affected clients.
