Exchange’s Disciplinary Action against a Former Director of Silver Grant International Holdings Group Limited (Stock Code: 171)

The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited) issued a regulatory notice dated 6 July 2026 regarding disciplinary measures against Wang Ping, former executive director of Silver Grant International Holdings Group Limited (Stock Code: 171). During the Exchange’s probe into whether Mr Wang properly fulfilled his director’s obligations under the Listing Rules, the bourse issued investigation letters and follow-up reminders to him, yet Mr Wang failed to provide any response to the Exchange’s inquiries. Consequently, the Exchange imposed a censure and issued a Director Unsuitability Statement against Mr Wang, holding the view that he is unfit to serve as a director or senior management member of the company and any of its subsidiaries. The Exchange highlighted two core regulatory takeaways: all directors retain the obligation to cooperate with the Exchange’s investigations even after stepping down from their directorial posts; refusal to assist with official investigations constitutes a severe violation of the Listing Rules and may attract the most stringent disciplinary sanctions. The full text of the disciplinary action statement is accessible on HKEX’s official website for public reference.
