SFC suspends dealings in Silver Grant International Holdings Group Limited shares over suspicious diversion of over $1 billion in loan proceeds to its then-major shareholder and related party

On 25 September 2026, the SFC ordered SEHK to suspend trading in Silver Grant International Holdings Group Limited (Stock Code: 00171) shares with effect from 9:00 a.m. under section 8(1) of the Securities and Futures (Stock Market Listing) Rules. Its investigation uncovered that over HK$1 billion, representing around 63% of roughly HK$2 billion‑worth of unsecured loans advanced by the company between March 2021 and December 2023, was indirectly channelled to its then‑major shareholder and a related‑party via multiple rapid transfers. The SFC also identified inadequate due‑diligence and credit assessments for these loans. Silver Grant failed to satisfactorily address the SFC’s concerns, notably by offering no valid commercial justification for making the loans. Given material worries over the company’s financial position, the SFC deemed suspension necessary and expedient to preserve an orderly, fair market and safeguard investing‑public interests, while its investigation remains ongoing.
