The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) led discussions among Asia-Pacific securities regulators during the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) Asia-Pacific Regional Committee (APRC) meetings held from February 19 to 21, 2025, in Vietnam. Chaired by SFC CEO Ms. Julia Leung, the three-day meeting focused on a coordinated regional approach to combat scams and online harm, as well as sharing techniques to detect investment fraud and leverage technology for emerging challenges. Ms. Leung also met with Vietnam’s State Securities Commission Chairwoman to discuss supervisory cooperation and welcomed Vietnam as the latest signatory to the APRC Multilateral Memorandum of Understanding for Supervisory Cooperation. Additionally, discussions included financial regulation developments in digitalization, fintech, and sustainable finance during the EU-Asia-Pacific Forum on Financial Regulation.
