Circular to management companies of SFC-authorized unit trusts and mutual funds – enhanced fund data reporting

The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) will update its requirements for enhanced fund data reporting for SFC-authorized funds, effective January 31, 2025, superseding previous circulars from 2018 and 2021. The new requirements will establish periodic reporting obligations in areas such as subscription and redemption (monthly), liquidity profiles (quarterly), asset allocation and leverage exposure (quarterly), and securities financing transactions (annually). Management companies must submit reports through the WINGS system within specified timeframes: 10 business days for subscription and redemption reports and five weeks for other reports. Sample reporting forms are provided to assist in preparation, and the SFC may further adjust requirements based on market and regulatory developments.
