Exchange Fund Bills Tender Results

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) recently conducted tenders for EF Bills on 30 April 2024. In the first tender (issue number Q2418), an amount of HK$143,490 million was applied, with HK$58,864 million allotted. The average accepted yield was 4.22 percent, and the highest accepted yield stood at 4.29 percent. The pro rata ratio, representing the average allotment percentage at the highest yield accepted, was approximately 11 percent. In the second tender (issue number H2447), HK$46,762.5 million was applied, and HK$15,000 million was allotted. The average accepted yield was 4.25 percent, with the highest accepted yield at 4.30 percent. The pro rata ratio was around 58 percent, indicating a higher allotment percentage compared to the first tender. Looking ahead, the HKMA announced tenders to be held in the week beginning 6 May 2024. On 7 May 2024, tenders will be conducted for EF Bills with issue numbers Q2419, H2448, and Y2489, featuring varying tenors and amounts on offer. These tenders present opportunities for market participants to engage in the trading and investment of EF Bills.
