Quinbrook Raises $780 Million for Clean Energy Infrastructure Fund

Specialising in energy transition investments, Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners has held the final close of its Quinbrook Renewables Impact Fund II (QRIF II) well ahead of schedule, securing £587 million (USD 784 million) in investor commitments, comfortably exceeding its £500 million fundraising target. The fund targets renewable energy and storage assets across the UK and Ireland to advance decarbonisation, strengthen energy security and deliver vital grid support, aligned with the UK’s Clean Power 2030 objectives and Ireland’s goal of sourcing 80% of its electricity from renewables by 2030. Its portfolio is already substantially built with long-term inflation-indexed contracts, featuring assets such as the 373 MW Mallard Pass Solar Project, clean energy refuelling firm Aegis Energy and a 65 MW solar-plus-41 MW battery storage scheme in Stockton-on-Tees. The firm’s European fundraising chief noted robust rising investor appetite for high-quality contracted clean energy infrastructure in the two markets, while its UK regional lead stated QRIF II expands its strategy into policy-backed segments with solid long-term demand including Irish grid stability infrastructure and UK commercial transport decarbonisation, following its predecessor fund QRIF I which closed at €620 million in October 2023.
