Danone, Mars Back New €150 Million Nature-Based Solutions Fund

On June 22, 2026, impact investment platform Livelihoods launched its fourth nature-based climate fund LCF4 with a total target size of €150 million, backed by Danone, Mars, Hermès, Schneider Electric and other enterprises, with €124 million raised in the first closing. The fund will invest in community-led nature-based projects such as agroforestry, mangrove restoration, regenerative agriculture and rural energy, targeting to sequester or avoid 7 to 10 million tons of CO2 within 25 years and improve the livelihoods of over 500,000 people. Having delivered 47 large-scale projects so far, Livelihoods has cut carbon emissions by 5.4 million tons, planted 160 million trees and benefited 2.4 million people across multiple continents. The new fund helps corporates offset hard-to-abate value chain emissions in the short run, restore degraded ecosystems and boost community climate resilience, mobilizing private capital to deliver measurable, tangible nature-based climate solutions.
