Ex-manager of electric motors company charged by ICAC pleads guilty at High Court to $70m purchase orders fraud by concealing conflict of interest

Seh Yat-wing, a former manager of Johnson Electric Group, pleaded guilty to fraud after admitting to deceiving the company into placing over 1,300 purchase orders worth over $70 million with a supplier in which he and a family member had undisclosed interests. The fraud occurred over six and a half years, with Seh receiving $7.4 million from the supplier, Eaton Enterprise Limited. The ICAC investigation revealed that Seh concealed his conflict of interest, violating company policies and the law. The court adjourned sentencing to December 4, and the ICAC emphasized the importance of clear conflict-of-interest guidelines for businesses.
