He admitted to borrowing money between September 2022 and February 2023 under false pretenses related to family emergencies, yet repaid only $50,000 to one subordinate. The case, which stemmed from a corruption complaint, will be sentenced on November 11, with the defendant currently remanded in custody. The ICAC emphasized the importance of integrity and adherence to anti-bribery laws among civil servants.
