SFC suspends Singh Amit Kishan for seven months

The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has suspended Singh Amit Kishan, a former employee of Bank Julius Baer, for seven months due to regulatory violations. An investigation revealed that between December 2018 and February 2019, Singh misrepresented a client meeting and improperly advised a client on 14 transactions, creating a false appearance of unsolicited trades. These actions violated Julius Baer’s account opening and suitability policies, hindering the bank’s compliance monitoring. The SFC considered Singh’s clean disciplinary record and the adequacy of the client’s information when determining the sanction.
