The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has released two new quick reference guides to aid professionals in navigating its licensing regime, adding to the five guides published in 2023. These guides, featuring case studies, provide insights into licensing options, processes, and conditions for examination exemptions to support a smooth transition to Hong Kong’s financial markets. Dr. Eric Yip, SFC’s Executive Director of Intermediaries, noted the growing influx of financial talent and emphasized that these guides aim to enhance understanding of licensing requirements. The SFC will also host workshops later this year to further clarify its policies and has updated the Chinese version of the guide while releasing a new English version.
