The Hong Kong International Academy Against Corruption (HKIAAC) hosted its first anti-corruption training for about 30 major local NGOs to improve governance and corruption prevention in the social welfare sector. At the closing ceremony, Acting Secretary for Labour and Welfare Mr. Ho Kai-ming and ICAC’s Director of Corruption Prevention Mr. Bryan Chong Ka-lok awarded certificates to the participants. Mr. Ho emphasized the importance of fair and transparent operations in NGOs due to their significant use of public funds and donations. The course included case studies and workshops on topics such as staff integrity, financial management, and digital corruption prevention. The ICAC also released an updated “Corruption Prevention Guide on Governance and Internal Control for NGOs,” now available online.
