Tentative issuance schedule for Exchange Fund Bills and Notes
On May 14, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) released a tentative issuance schedule for Exchange Fund Bills and Notes (EFBNs) for the upcoming quarter of July to September 2024. The schedule provides information on the tentative tender dates, issue sizes, and issue dates of individual EFBNs. It takes into account the rollover of maturing issues and planned adjustments to the maturity spectrum of the EFBN portfolio. This quarterly schedule is issued in the second month of each quarter (February, May, August, and November) and covers the EFBN tenders for the following quarter.
It is important to note that the tender dates, issue sizes, and issue dates outlined in the advance issuance schedule are subject to change. The HKMA will confirm and announce the details of new issues of Exchange Fund Bills at least 4 business days prior to the respective tender dates. For Exchange Fund Notes, the details will be confirmed and announced 7 business days before their respective tender dates. The HKMA may make adjustments to the schedule based on prevailing market conditions.
