Insurance Authority warns against fraudulent website
On April 29, 2024, the Insurance Authority (IA) issued a warning regarding a fraudulent website, “https://www.centuryinservices.com,” which falsely claims to be the official website of Century Insurance Services Limited (CISL), a licensed insurance agency in Hong Kong. The IA wants to alert the public about this deceptive website and clarify that CISL has no association with it. CISL has confirmed that it does not operate any official website, and they have reported the case to the Hong Kong Police Force for further investigation. Individuals who have provided personal information or conducted insurance transactions through the fraudulent website are advised to contact CISL at (852) 2802 0108 and report the case to the Hong Kong Police Force.
If you are seeking information about licensed insurance intermediaries in Hong Kong, the IA recommends referring to the Register of Licensed Insurance Intermediaries on their website. It is crucial to exercise caution and verify the authenticity of websites when engaging in insurance-related activities to protect yourself from potential fraud.
