The deadline for license applications to the SFC of virtual asset trading platform (VATP) to operate after June 1 2024 has ended.
Virtual Asset Trading Platform that are operating in Hong Kong but did not submit license applications to the SFC by February 29 2024 must close down their business by May 31 2024.
The Virtual Asset Trading Platform must obtain requisite SFC license in order to resume business activities or actively market virtual asset services to Hong Kong investors.
SFC urges investors to trade virtual assets only on SFC licensed virtual asset trading platform.
