Large exposures: consultation on amendments to MA(BS)28 Return

The HKMA has requested feedback on revised templates for the Return of Large Exposures (MA(BS)28) in response to proposed amendments to the Banking (Exposure Limits) Rules (BELR). The revisions aim to put into effect changes resulting from proposed BELR amendments, address International Monetary Fund recommendations in relation to the prudential reporting of related party transaction, and improve supervisory monitoring of credit concentration risk. The effective date of the proposed revisions is expected to be at the end of the quarter during which the amended BELR takes effect. To help authorized institutions meet the revised reporting requirements of MA(BS)28, the HKMA has provided draft revised templates and explanatory notes.
