Iberdrola has presented a Climate Transition Plan to the United Nations, aiming for zero net emissions by 2040. The plan involves reaching carbon neutrality of generation plants, electricity distribution, and own consumption by 2030, and net zero emissions throughout the value chain by 2040. The company plans to invest in renewable energy, smart grids, and green procurement. The plan is based on just transition principles and alliances for public participation, aligned with the ten recommendations of the UN’s High-Level Panel of Experts report. Iberdrola has also presented a Biodiversity Plan to achieve a net positive impact on species and ecosystems by 2030.
