BlackRock and Temasek’s decarbonization-focused fund, Decarbonization Partners, has successfully raised $1.4 billion for its inaugural fund, surpassing its $1 billion target. The fund, established in 2022, aims to invest in companies that provide technologies and solutions to accelerate the transition to a net-zero economy by 2050. With commitments from over 30 institutional investors across 18 countries, including pension funds and sovereign wealth funds, Decarbonization Partners is well-positioned to drive innovative decarbonization solutions at scale. The collaboration between BlackRock and Temasek brings together their expertise and resources to address the climate crisis and generate long-term financial returns. As a purpose-built entity, Decarbonization Partners convenes and collaborates with key players in the climate ecosystem, including innovative companies, corporates, co-investors, and clients. The fund has already made investments in seven companies across various decarbonization technologies, such as sustainable materials for batteries and clean hydrogen, contributing to the transition towards a sustainable and net-zero future.
