Bangladesh and the World Bank have signed a $300 million financing agreement to equip approximately 900,000 economically disengaged rural youth, with a focus on empowering female participants, with the necessary skills and alternative education for employment and entrepreneurship. The Economic Acceleration and Resilience for NEET (EARN) Project will overcome barriers hindering disadvantaged youth from accessing education and employment opportunities. It will establish vocational training centers, offer market-driven and futuristic courses, and provide mentorship and financing support for entrepreneurial endeavors. The agreement aligns with Bangladesh’s development priorities, and the funding comes from the World Bank’s International Development Association.
