Nearly Two-thirds of Employees Say Employers Not Doing Enough to Address Climate Change and Sustainability: Deloitte Survey
A recent Deloitte survey of over 20,000 respondents across more than 20 countries reveals that a majority believe their companies are not adequately addressing climate change and sustainability, prompting many to consider significant lifestyle changes related to consumption, living, and work. The survey highlights that 56% have experienced at least one climate-linked extreme weather event in the last six months, with notable increases in reports from countries like Mexico (91%) and Japan (89%). Additionally, 67% view climate change as an emergency, and 60% have altered their personal activities and purchasing behaviors to combat it. Notably, 47% bought sustainable products recently, and younger respondents are more likely to relocate due to climate concerns. However, 63% feel their employers are insufficiently addressing sustainability issues, though interest in changing jobs for more sustainable companies has dropped from 30% in 2021 to 21%.
