Apple Triples Clean Energy Amount From 2020 and Pledges Net-Zero Charging by 2030

Apple has achieved significant milestones in its commitment to clean energy and water conservation. The company now relies on over 18 gigawatts of clean electricity, triple the amount from the previous year. Apple aims to match every watt of charging electricity with clean energy by 2030 and has already transitioned 320 suppliers to renewable energy, resulting in 16.5 gigawatts of clean power. Additionally, Apple is dedicated to replenishing 100 percent of the fresh water it uses in corporate operations and has saved over 12 billion gallons of water through its Supplier Clean Water Program. In line with its sustainability goals, Apple is implementing nature-based solutions to enhance water resilience. This includes projects to restore flood plains and engage in strategic forest thinning initiatives. The company’s Green Bonds program, which has issued nearly $5 billion since 2016, plays a vital role in accelerating progress towards its sustainability targets. Through these efforts, Apple and its suppliers are not only driving positive change but also setting new standards for environmental responsibility in the tech industry.
