Nature Action 100, an investor engagement initiative representing $24 trillion in assets, has released a list of 100 companies targeted in a campaign to address nature loss and biodiversity decline. Companies such as Amazon, McDonald’s, Nestlé, Walmart, and Glencore are among the targets. The selection was based on market capitalization and the highest impacts on nature within key sectors. The initiative aims to increase corporate ambition and action to combat nature loss, as financial risks from biodiversity decline continue to grow. Each of the 100 companies has received letters outlining the systemic risk and expectations, including minimizing contributions to nature loss, assessing and disclosing nature-related impacts, setting targets, establishing board oversight, and engaging across the value chain.
