UK-based grocery retailer Tesco has announced new climate commitments, including targets to reduce emissions in its supply chain and its own operations. The company aims to achieve an 85% reduction in its own emissions by 2030 and reach net-zero emissions by 2035. Tesco will focus on reducing emissions from energy, industry, forests, land, and agriculture. The company plans to implement initiatives such as deforestation-free supply chains by 2025 and encouraging suppliers to commit to net-zero emissions. Tesco’s goals have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative.
