BDC, a Canadian development bank, has created a $150 million Sustainability Venture Fund to invest in businesses that are developing technologies supporting sustainability and climate goals. The Fund will concentrate on four significant United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and invest in Canadian companies creating sustainable technologies with light capital requirements. The Fund complements BDC’s existing Climate Tech Fund II, which offers financing and equity investment for clean and climate tech firms. BDC has committed over $1.8 billion to sustainability initiatives, including $1 billion for its Cleantech and Climate Tech Funds.
